Storms in Des Moines area and southern 1/3 of Iowa today

It will be a stormy Saturday in Central Iowa with rain likely at times. 

WHO TV Channel 13 Meteorologists say we'll see a lull in the storms during the early afternoon, but more storms are expected to fire up late Saturday afternoon and evening. A few storms in southeast Iowa may become severe with some gusty winds and hail. Temperatures will hold in the 60s today with the clouds and rain in place.

Skies will clear overnight with breezy northwest winds at 10 to 25 mph. Sunday will be dry, but also significantly cooler. Highs will only make it to the upper 50s. 

THE WEEK AHEAD

Sunshine will dominate the week ahead and each day the temperatures will rise a little more. We start the week on Monday with highs in the upper 60s, but by Friday we’ll be in the mid-70s.
