Human Remains In Missouri River Lead To Death Investigation

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says 911 communications received a call concerning a suspected human body floating in the Missouri River, originally seen just north of Douglas/Washington County Line Tuesday evening

Douglas County was contacted for a response from its Nautical Services Unit, along with the Council Bluffs and Omaha Fire Departments.

The Omaha Police helicopter also responded and located a suspected human body floating in river, just south of 14445 N. River Dr.

Water rescue units from Council Bluffs and Omaha Fire located and recovered the body of a deceased adult male; it was brought to the boat landing at NP Dodge Park, and turned over to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, which is leading the investigation.
