(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowans across nine counties are eligible for state resources to rebuild and recover from last weekend's severe weather.

Clarke, Crawford, Harrison, Mills, Polk, Pottawattamie, Ringgold, Shelby, and Union county residents who qualify can apply for grants to help with home or car repairs, temporary housing expenses, clothing or food replacement, and more.

Grant application and instructions are available on the Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management website. Applicants have 45 days to submit a claim.

The latest count from the National Weather Service indicates at least 23 tornadoes spawned from Friday's severe storms in Nebraska and Iowa.
